Nice walk The park is not too crowdy despite Guachipelin hotel. You can have a quiet walk in the middle of the trees. The waterfall La Cangreja is very nice, you can swim, it is a sunny place most of the day. The access is close after 1pm.Las Pailas track is interesting, you can see and feel volcan activities. We have seen a lot of monkeys playing in the trees after 4pm.By the end of the day you can have a glass at the hotel for reasonable price during Happy Hour !You can use the same entry ticket for both park entry Pailas and Casora Santa Maria, but it is hard to do everything in the same day.

Catarata La Cangreja y Sector Pailas.

Nice hike, beautiful waterfall We had a beautiful hike to the Cangreja waterfall. We did not see much wildlife though, I guess we were unlucky. It was very, very hot. Make sure to bring more water than you think you'll need.

Great visit Fantastic place. The trail we did was great, so much to see from animals to bubbling hot springs that smell of sulphur. A little hard going in places but I’m not a very fit 53 year old!

Las Pailas - Great walks but some parts are really difficult We truly enjoyed our visits to this park. We were told that this is the park that offers the longest trails in the area of Guanacaste. Note: if you arrive after midday they only allow you to do the 'short/easy' trail. The entry fee was US$16.5 (card payment only) and to reach this park entrance, you'll pay a 'toll' (700 colones per person) to pass private property. We arrived quite early in the morning and had the time to do all three trails, but be warned, the trail to Escondida waterfall involves a tough climb, especially if you do this after had done the Cangreja waterfail trail first. At entrance, they tell you that the easy walk is around 3 km long, relatively flat and you'll see some geothermal activity (mud pools, fumaroles) and the waterfall walks are difficult (Cangreja 9 km long, Escondida 10 km long - the path diverts after the first 2.3 km). They don't tell you how difficult they are... We started with the Cangreja and it was a nice walk, well-marked path, with some more difficult parts of the trail. It's mostly shaded under vegetation, which is nice. After that, we decided to walk to Escondida waterfall. I found the scenery here more interesting than the Cangreja trail as it is more open and you have very good views from higher up. This been said, the path is less shaded and involves a tough climb and than a descent to the waterfall that is nice but arguably less beautiful than Cangreja. We enjoyed (and needed) a sit down rest in the shade at the rocks by the water (at the top of a tall waterfall) just before the last bit of the trail that takes you to Escondida waterfall. At the end we did the 'easy' 3 km trail and also enjoyed it. There's lots to see in terms of scenery, different vegetation, birds, butterflies, deer, aguti, howler monkeys, white face monkeys and more.

Our family of 7 just wrapped up a day at Buena Vista at Rincon. We ziplined, rode on horses, visited the hot springs and cultural center, and rode down Costa Rica’s longest jungle water slide. It was an AMAZING and eventful day. Our tour guide, Randall, was THE BEST. He pointed out all kinds of wildlife and fauna so that we could really see the best that this beautiful country has to offer. Please visit Buena Vista… you will not be disappointed. PURA VIDA🍍😎🍹🐵👙

He is very knowledgeable and well known in the area making it easier to get priority in the activities. Thank you Fabricio and Randall for making our experience such a wonderful one.🥰

This tour was so much fun! We were picked up by Jose Mario and Diego early in the morning and they took us by the cutest souvenir shop and breakfast buffet in Liberia. Once we arrived to Rincon, Diego escorted us each step of the way and took pictures for us which was great! It’s a beautiful location and I highly recommend
